Look Up in the Sky it's a Ninja Turtle it's a Doctor, it's Supergirl

She is either a Ninja Turtle, PowerRanger, Princess, Doctor, or something completely made up but it is hers and I am okay with that.

My kid never seems to amaze me and more than anything she has a mind of her own to which I couldn’t be more proud of.  The best thing about AVAA is that she is not afraid to speak her mind and say things that are the complete opposite of what you would think she “should” say.

I think I knew that she was going to be my rock star when I asked her what she wanted to do for her 3rd birthday and she said she just wanted to be Superman.  We settled on her Dad being Superdad me being Supermom and her being Supergirl just because she wanted to wear a skirt.

When you want to give your kids the world it is important that you remember that doing such is never as hard as it seems.  To start off every birthday needs an awesome birthday invite and I created just that with a pretty cool “Daily Planet” newspaper idea, calling all Super Heroes from near and far!  Then came the outfits, since I planned fairly early due to her birthday being combined with a holiday I was able to score a pretty amazing Supergirl costume that only cost me about $20.00. Plus the rest of the family went and got various other superhero shirts to go along with the theme.

Kids are simple and my kid loves tomatoes, chicken, grapes, and cheese.  I decided on a simple cheese and fruit tray that could feed the masses.  In addition to that, I went with Chic Fil A nuggets (Mostly because my sister worked there and she had recommended them to me) but also because who knew those things could be so addicting!

Lastly, for entertainment, I went with a KidsBop playlist, and an AMAZING Superman bounce house to last the whole day.  All the other items I was lucky to snag from Amazon in bulk for the low low! I went with Superhero capes that the kids could take home that also came with masks as the goodie bag and then from there we let the party begin!!

The most important thing about all of it was that during that entire process it was asked why let her be a superhero like superman when there are so many other girl birthday themes that I could go with?  The best answer is that I listen to my kid and I go with what she wants and not what society wants to push on her!

We have seen everything from Barbie Dreamhouse, Daniel Tiger, and rounded off with Power Rangers. My kid is a well-cultured kid and as a single mom, I am very proud that she wants to be anything in this world no matter what the odds are.
