"New Year...New No!"

Help with your 2019 Goals!

Welcome to the New Year folks and dare I say it 21 days in… HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I just cannot believe that we are already 21 days into 2019. If the entirety of 2019 is a new year then why do we only celebrate and believe we can just make goals at the beginning? “New Year…New-,” NO, NO and NO! Are you falling into the “New Year, New Me” train this year? If you are the type of person that jumps in and proclaims every year that you are going to be a different person then who you were last year but never actually gets to the “New Me” part of the year, then this is for you! Instead of looking at this year and telling yourself you want to be a completely different person, look at this year and tell yourself you want to have growth and evolve into something beautiful.

An excellent way to jump into the New Year is by realizing that it is never too late to set goals for yourself and grow. Growing is never easy, and it always takes time, but the key is to shoot for setting yourself up for success. Have a place to organize your thoughts, having patience, and planning out your steps are amazing for accomplishing goals.

The first thing I love to do is to create a theme for my year. Setting up your theme for the year will help guide you during decision making.

Themes to your life can be:

Mentally Strong

Taking Risk

The Big Adventure

Spiritual Growth

The list could indeed continue forever! I think you get the idea now behind theme so whatever you think you want to focus on for your year dive into brainstorming and select your theme.

2019 Vision Board

2019 Vision Board

Next, you will want to create some type of vision board. I prefer the good ole foam board, rubber cement, and magazines but I know that we are in a time where technology is amazing, and you can now do everything digitally. Apps like Pinterest, Pic Monkey, and Adobe Draw can be used for creating a digital vision board if you choose to go that route.

I like to sketch out my vision board before going into the creation process because I genuinely enjoy narrowing down what I want to focus on. I used my iPad and the Sketches app and created something that looked like a web diagram. I separated mine into 4 separate areas: Career, Health, Relationship, and Creativity. Focusing on those areas allowed me to really have a smooth transition when deciding what items to place on my board this year.

It is really that simple ya’ll! Once dry I reflect on my vision for the year and then take out my pen and paper and set goals for how I want to achieve each goal no matter how big or small step by step. You will be surprised what you come up with!

The cool things that I love using are my goal setting sheets! Last year I created these and then placed them in my planner as a daily reminder to succeed. They are fantastic and really came in handy when keeping myself accountable. Everyone loves FREEBIES, and I wanted to ensure that you all get to work on organizing your life by having some tools already created for you!
